about us

We are queer people from Kassel and North Hesse. In 2021, we founded the association Queeres Zentrum Kassel e.V. to provide a central point of contact for queer communities in Kassel and North Hesse. After a long search for a suitable space, we opened the Queeres Zentrum Kassel at Mauerstraße 11 in 2024. Our rooms are a place where queer people can meet and simply be themselves. Queer groups from North Hesse meet at our center, and queer individuals can get an overview of queer offerings in North Hesse and connect with queer communities.

We bring the Queer Center to life together. Most groups, meetings, and events are offered by volunteers from various queer communities. There are also working groups that take on specific tasks at the Queer Center. We would be delighted if you would like to join us!

We all discuss and decide together what happens at the Queer Center. To this end, we meet once a week for an hour-long plenary session. Here, people report on past and planned events and we talk about challenges and goals for the Queer Center. New groups and volunteers also introduce themselves at the plenary session so that we can get to know each other.
