Meeting: Freelance Work in (Queer) Education, Culture, and Empowerment
Dear Queers+ in North Hesse,
freelance and self-employed work all too often takes place in isolation. Many of us work without institutional ties and without a team. This means we lack opportunities to exchange ideas—for example, about the pedagogical design of our workshops, negotiating fees, questions regarding tax returns, or how we’re doing as queer people in freelance or self-employed work. In early 2025, we came together to build a regional network. We’re a small group of 5–13 people who work as freelancers. We meet about every two months, usually online. And we have an email list for sharing ideas. We’d love to have new people join us!
We’re hosting an open meeting.
When: Tuesday, September 29, from 2:00–4:00 p.m.
Where: online via Zoom
The meeting is open to all queer+(1) people from North Hesse who are freelancers or self-employed in the fields of (queer) education, culture, and empowerment. Are you interested in networking with other queer freelancers? Whether you’re new to the field or have been in it for a while, we look forward to meeting you!
Do you have questions or want to learn more first? Then feel free to contact us at: fred_queer[at]riseup[dot]net
We’ll send you the access details for the Zoom room after you register.

(1) We use “Queer+” here as an umbrella term for all people in the LGBTIQA+ community, as well as for people whose identities and experiences regarding gender, desire, and sexuality are marginalized and devalued.
